Dear Members,

I hope this message finds you healthy and well.  Things are changing daily so I want to check in with you and share what is happening at our branches.

Providing a safe environment helps everyone feel more comfortable.  Along with thorough cleaning and disinfecting we are also practicing social distancing. When you arrive for your appointment, you will notice that some of our employees are wearing masks.  Please feel comfortable to wear a mask when you visit us.

For the safety of our members and employees, we have canceled our 2020 Member Appreciation BBQs.  We will miss this fun and festive event.

Stimulus checks are expected to hit mailboxes soon.  Please be on alert for possible scams relating to the stimulus checks and COVID-19.  An FBI Alert warns that scams are on the rise.  See below for a list of the most prevalent scams.

Our lobbies are open for members with an appointment.   Make an appointment by call 800-696-8830 or email us at memberservice@northcoastcreditunion.com.  Drive Thru Service is available Monday – Friday.   Online and Mobile Banking, Mobile Check Deposit and our ATMs are available 24/7

Remember, Credit Unions were created so members can support each other.  This is why you belong to a credit union.   North Coast is your credit union and we are here to support you.

We will keep you posted of further changes as they happen.  Stay safe.

Members - Be aware of these scams:

Fake CDC emails

Watch out for emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or other organizations offering information about the virus.   Fraudsters can use links in emails to steal personal information or to lock your computer and demand payment.

Be wary of websites and apps claiming to track COVID-19 cases worldwide. Criminals are using malicious websites to infect and lock devices until they receive payment.

Phishing emails

Beware phishing emails asking you to verify your personal information to receive an economic stimulus check from the government. Government agencies are not sending unsolicited emails seeking your private information to send you money.  Phishing emails may also claim to be related to charitable contributions, general financial relief, airline carrier refunds, fake cures and vaccines, and fake testing kits.

Counterfeit treatments or equipment

Be cautious of anyone selling products that claim to prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure COVID-19. Be alert to counterfeit products such as sanitizing products and personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 respirator masks, goggles, full-face shields, protective gowns, and gloves.

The FBI advises several ways to practice good “cyber hygiene” and security measures:

  • Don’t open attachments or click links within emails from senders you don't recognize.
  • Don’t provide your username, password, date of birth, social security number, financial data, or other personal information in response to an email or robocall.
  • Verify web addresses of legitimate websites and manually type them into your browser.
  • Check for misspellings or wrong domains within a link (i.e., an address that should end in .gov ends in .com instead).

Dear Members,

The past two weeks we have been very busy helping many of you manage your loans and finances through this crisis.   We understand the 4-week extension of “Shelter at Home” may increase the financial difficulties you are facing.

Credit Unions were created so members can support each other.  This is why you belong to a credit union.   North Coast is your credit union and we are here to support you.

Let us know if you have concerns about your financial wellbeing.  For members who have already contacted us, let us know if we can help you through this extended timeline.

To better serve our members, we have increased the cash withdrawal limits at our ATMs to $750 for debit/credit card withdrawals.

Currently our lobbies are available to members by appointment.  Please call 800-696-8830 to make an appointment. Our Member Service Contact Center is also able to answer many questions and offer services you may need.  Our Drive Thru Service is available for members and non members during normal business hours.

We want to keep you informed in case anything changes.  Every day we are updating our lobby hours on our website and our Facebook page.
